The Associate in Science degree program in Biology offers students interested in careers in biological sciences and professional medical fields an opportunity to complete the first two years of their college classes. Biology majors study life on different levels starting from molecular and cellular biology and ending at population and environmental biology. They study both micro and macroscopic living organisms and learn diverse research and laboratory techniques. The degree program will prepare students for successful completion of a bachelor’s degree in Biology, related majors, and professional programs. Students who earn A.S. degrees can either enter workforce as biological science technicians or continue their education to earn B.S. degrees and higher degrees, including research (M.S. and Ph.D.) and professional (M.D., D.D.S, and D.V.M.) degrees.
