Mission
Queensborough Community College is an open admissions institution that serves a diverse student population reflective of the Queens community we serve. We are dedicated to academic excellence and provide an affordable, high-quality education to all learners. We are committed to fostering a culture of equity and inclusion in a respectful, welcoming, and caring environment. We value and support the development of critical thinking, intellectual inquiry, global awareness, civic responsibility, and cultural and artistic appreciation.
Goals
Consistent with the tenets of its mission, the college seeks to:
Support the holistic development of students through an integrated student learning experience that offers comprehensive support (academic, personal, financial)
Promote curricular innovation that is committed to enhancing student readiness for transfer to a higher degree or for entry into a professional career
Support the holistic development of faculty and staff through professional development that meets individual needs and broadens community collaboration
Provide a welcoming, safe, and supportive campus environment that is thriving, supports and sustains campus initiatives, offers students varied educational experiences, and promotes cultural and artistic venues
Through periodic assessment, assure transparency and a campus culture responsive to the changing needs of students and the community.
