Dear Students, 

Welcome to the 2024-2025 Academic Year at Queensborough Community College! 

We are excited to have you here and dedicated to seeing you succeed. In this College Catalog, you will find information about the academic programs and courses at Queensborough. You will also find information about the College and resources available to you to ensure your success as a student.  

Queensborough Community College serves a diverse student population reflective of the borough of Queens. We are dedicated to academic excellence and committed to fostering a culture of equity and inclusion in a respectful, welcoming, and caring environment. Accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education, Queensborough, through its 16 academic departments, offers transfer and degree programs, including Associate of Arts (AA), Associate of Science (AS), and Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degrees. The College also offers non-credit courses and certificate programs. 

Queensborough supports your academic interests and future goals through Queensborough Academies, which provide special learning opportunities, activities, and guidance tailored for you. The five Academies include Business, Health-Related Sciences, Liberal Arts, Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM), and Visual and Performing Arts (VAPA), and will guide you through your college career. Each academy offers educational opportunities at the College’s three cultural resource centers: The Kupferberg Holocaust Center (KHC), the QCC Art Gallery, and the Queensborough Performing Arts Center (QPAC). These enriched learning experiences serve to reinforce classroom teaching and further your commitment to your education. Queensborough is one of only a few community colleges in the country offering programs on this scale.  

You are part of a community that includes caring faculty who provide students with the best education and access to countless opportunities. With 70% of faculty holding doctoral or terminal degrees, your professors are actively engaged in developing teaching methods to further benefit you. They also conduct research in their academic disciplines, publish their findings and compete internationally in academic forums. Having faculty committed to research and discovery ensures a robust learning experience and opportunities to gain knowledge from those who are working on the leading edge in a particular subject.   

Historically, more than half of our students transfer to a four-year CUNY college upon earning their associate degree. It is our goal to provide an academic environment that strengthens your commitment to education, making it possible for you to graduate and complete your academic and professional goals promptly. Our supportive faculty and administrative staff are always here to help you, and I am confident you will be successful.
