Cooperative Education in the Health Professions

Description

Can be used to satisfy the major concentration but not the basic liberal arts and sciences core for the A.S. (Mathematics and Science) degree program. Students are selected for employment in a field experience with compensation to the student. Students are placed with selected cooperative employers for a minimum of 90 hours. Course requirements include weekly meetings with the coordinator, submission of weekly progress reports, and a final report covering the activitiesin the experience. The final grade is determined by the cooperative education coordinator, who assigns a grade of Pass or Fail, based on weekly and final reports and field site evaluation. Proof of liability insurance may be required. All internships must be completed before graduation to be included in the student's degree certification.
