History and Curriculum of Early Childhood Education

Plus 30 hours per semester of fieldwork The course will present students with an overview of the history of early childhood education and with the tools to examine and develop basic curricula appropriate for early childhood. The field experience is an integral part of this course. Each student will be required to spend two hours a week (30 hours per semester) in an early childhood program. The student will examine different approaches and methods designed to meet the physical, intellectual and social needs of children and their families. The field experience will provide students with an opportunity to practice the methods studied in the theoretical portion of the course under professional supervision. 30 hours per semester of field work.
