Radiation Safety

The Radiation Safety Certificate Program provides students with a foundation in the principles of radiation and radiation protection. This program is most relevant to those seeking eventual employment as a radiological control technician at places that generate or incorporate radioactive materials, such as nuclear power plants, national laboratories, research centers, or medical facilities. The Certificate Program includes one-year courses in English Composition, General Chemistry, College Physics, and Radiation Safety. The Radiation Safety courses have lecture and laboratory components that provide students with specialized instruction and hands-on training in radiation detection and contamination control.
