Placement in Mathematics and English

Before taking credit-bearing courses in college-level mathematics and English composition, students must be evaluated for their readiness for those courses. Students who are ready for those courses are said to be "proficient" in math and/or English. Please see Proficiency in Math and English for details.

Additionally, students with admissions materials indicating that they have recently taken ESL classes or studied at an institution where English is not the primary language of instruction must be evaluated for their readiness to take college-level courses in English.
