Description

Statistics with Basic Algebra complements an introduction to statistics with selected basic algebra concepts of relevance to an appropriate study of statistics. After developing the skills relevant to basic manipulation of rational numbers, decimals, and square root, as well as graphing linear functions, students are exposed to the traditional topics of introduction to statistics including sampling, descriptive statistics, probability theory, the binomial and normal distributions, confidence intervals and tests of hypotheses. A professional statistical software package will be used. This course is recommended for non-STEM majors and does not give equivalence for MA-336. Students who earned credit for MA-119 with a C or better cannot take MA-335. Students who earned credit for MA-336 cannot take MA-335. Experimental.
